Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Cinnamon Mock Toddy

/ Uncategorized

I know some of you like to participate in Dry January at the beginning of the year.  Because of this, I thought I’d start off the new Flavor of the Month with a mocktail.  I also wanted something warm and comforting and this “mock toddy” did the trick!

Let’s get into it!

Start by pouring the boiling water into your favorite mug and steeping the tea for about three minutes. The steeping time really depends on how strong you like your tea.  Have you ever tried Rooibos tea?
It’s an herbal tea that is native to South Africa.  It’s a little earthy but isn’t too strongly flavored.  I wanted a tea that wasn’t caffeinated and would provide a backbone to this drink without it taking over the flavor.  You should be able to find it in the tea aisle of any grocery store.

Once your tea has steeped, take out the teabag.  Add the honey, cinnamon, and apple cider vinegar.

Stir, making sure you get your spoon all the way to the bottom to get all of the honey incorporated.  Give it a thorough stir, also, to get all the cinnamon mixed in.

Give it a taste and add more honey if you’d like it sweeter.

Enjoy, preferably cozy under the covers on the couch. 🙂
