Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Citrus Toddy
Do you have a favorite cozy at-home outfit for this cold weather? Mine is a long-sleeved comfy shirt and my “hammer pants” (they are exactly what you think) with thick fluffy socks Derek gave me for Christmas or my slippers. Once we’re under our thick comforter on the couch I take off the socks/slippers. I don’t know about you, but I hate having stuff on my feet if I don’t have to! I bring this up because it’s felt really cold this past week. Granted, it’s not snowing here like other areas of teh US but it’s been really wet and soggy which makes things feel colder. I decided it was time for another hot toddy recipe to enjoy while huddled up inside under the covers!
Let’s get to it!
Pour the citrus juices into your large mug and add the brown sugar. I recommend the fruit be at room temp for two reasons: more juice will come out and the rest of the drink will be warmer.
Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Now add the boiling water. Give it a stir to combine everything.
Top off with your favorite spiced rum and stir.
Enjoy and stay warm!
