Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Sweater Weather Pimms
I don’t know about you but I’m obsessed with the Great British Baking Show. It has really amped up my passion for baking. I love how caring the contestants are, seeing all of the interesting flavor combos they come up with, and just reveling in the talents of these people! The amazing thing about social media is that I can follow some of my favorite contestants on Instagram. One that I’ve really enjoyed is Candice Brown. She was the winner a few seasons ago and I appreciate her style, warm heart, and sense of humor. The other day she shared an idea for a heated cocktail with Pimm’s. I’ve been rolling around ideas for a cold weather drink and I am so glad I saw her post! It never would have occurred to me to use Pimm’s in a hot drink but it totally makes sense. It has some herby qualities that stay intact even when warm.
Let’s get to it!
Start by pouring the apple juice, orange juice, and Pimm’s in a small saucepan. Plop in the cinnamon stick. Put in on the stove over medium-low and cook until it starts to bubble.
Pour it into your favorite mug and garnish with a cinnamon stick or orange peel. That’s it!
The gin, herbs, and cinnamon add to the warming qualities of this drink. It has also has bit of a tart after-taste, so it’s not cloying.
Enjoy!
