Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Midnight Rum
I may have mentioned before that my husband’s favorite spirit is rum. I’m always on the lookout for new rum cocktails or brainstorming ones to make. Derek recently came across the Midnight Rum which is right up his alley. Combining rum with cola and cherry, it seemed worth a shot. I’m sure it will now be one of our regulars because it’s so simple but slightly more exciting than a regular “Rum & Coke”.
Let’s get to it!
Start by filling your glass with ice.
Pour in about half of the cola (I used Coke Zero but use whatever your preference is) along with the grenadine and spiced rum.
You should be able to find grenadine in the cocktail mixers section of your local grocery store and it will last forever in your fridge.
Pour in the remaining cola and give it a stir. Garnish with a maraschino cherry if you’re feeling fancy.
The grenadine gives it a sweet cherry flavor that works well with the spiced rum.
Enjoy!
