Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Purple Drink
We’ve been on a big grape kick around here lately (see here, here and here). Well, that has extended to drinks also! We drink a fair amount of diet soda and I’m always on the lookout for interesting flavors. On my last trip to Winco, I found diet grape soda! I only bought one pack because some diet flavors have a weird aftertaste. This one doesn’t, so now I’m lamenting that I didn’t get more! 🙁 Of course I started thinking about what kinds of cocktails I could make with it!
Let’s get to it!
Fill a pint glass with ice. I used a mason jar because I wanted something unfussy but use whatever you’d like.
Now pour in half of the grape soda, the gin, and the lemon juice.
Top off with the rest of the grape soda and give it a good stir.
Garnish with a grape or a lemon wedge and enjoy. I don’t know about you, but grape soda brings me back to childhood. I take a sip and reminisce about running around my grandparents’ yard and getting a Shasta out of the fridge in the musty basement. Those were the days!
