Don’t Judge Me Mondays: The Tulip
Derek and I watch a show on AMC called Preacher (we just started the 2nd season, so no spoilers please!). It’s dark, with supernatural elements, and interesting characters.
My favorite character is Tulip (played by Ruth Negga), a tough no-nonsense woman that still has a vulnerable side.
Our friend Andy was at a convention and there was a booth promoting Preacher. They were giving out airport bottles of whiskey, so I decided to make a cocktail with it. Tulip is a no-fuss woman so I wanted to make a cocktail with whiskey that wasn’t too involved.
Let’s get to it!
Carefully fill your glass halfway with ice, Tulip wouldn’t want a watered down drink. Pour in the lemon juice and whiskey and top off with the sparkling water.
Give it a stir and enjoy with a slice of lemon on a hot day. This is the kind of drink I bet Tulip would like if she wasn’t drinking whiskey straight out of a bottle. 😉 There’s not too much other stuff to mask the flavor of the booze but it’s still refreshing.

- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 1/2 ounces whiskey
- 3 ounces sparkling water
- lemon slice for garnish
Instructions
- Fill glass halfway with ice.
- Pour in the lemon juice and whiskey and top off with sparkling water.
- Stir and garnish with a lemon slice.
