Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Betsy’s Drink

/ Uncategorized

Do you have a go to drink? What I mean by that is a drink that you will order out at a bar when you don’t know what to get or when someone is ordering for you….”oh just get me a (fill in the blank here)”.  I realized a few years ago that as an adult I don’t have a go to drink.  It seems to vary by season, location or whatever.  I tend to be indecisive when it comes to inconsequential decisions (like picking a drink), go figure.  My friend Betsy does have a go-to drink and I admit that sometimes I borrow (steal?) it when I don’t want to look at a menu but just don’t know what to order.  It’s a whiskey and ginger ale and it’s so tasty!  It’s simple, so any bar will have the ingredients.  It’s also easy to dress up (with a top shelf whiskey) or dress down (house whiskey), isn’t too pricey, and goes down easy (but not too easy). See?  It’s perfect!

Let’s get to Betsy’s Drink! 🙂

Start by filling a highball or scotch glass with ice.  Then add half of the ginger ale and squeeze the juice of the lime quarter in.

Add the whiskey and top it off with the rest of the ginger all and stir.

Garnish with a small lime wedge if you like and enjoy!

I’d love to hear what you guys consider your go-to cocktail?  Tell me in the comments!

  1. Such a delicious and refreshing drink! Especially in the summer! So flattered you named a drink after me :)
  2. I had a great whiskey drink the other day, but I don't remember what was in it Apart from the same whiskey I blame for the memory loss of course). I'm out looking on every blog I can find that is about whiskey and drinks. That plan seems impossible though, it's a popular drink ;-)
  3. This drink looks delicious. I would love to try this soon. Two thumbs up for this great review! :) Keep it up!
