Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Lavender Martini
Some of you may have seen the video I shared on Instagram last week of the magical sparkly vodka my friend Betsy and I made. It is so pretty and incredibly easy to make! You just add edible pearl dust to a bottle of your favorite spirit and stir. That’s it. I’m warning you, though, that once you’ve done this all other liquor looks boring in comparison. 😉
Betsy and I made 2 kinds: a lovely lavender vodka and a sparkly Blue Curacao that reminds me of space. Not only is the lavender vodka that color, but is also flavored with the herb. It was only $15 at the store so it seemed worth a try! It’s slightly sweet with just a hint of lavender.
I knew that mixing it with too many ingredients would make the lavender flavor disappear so we tried a simple martini with lavender vodka and dry vermouth. It was so tasty! Slightly sweet, a little floral and of course absolutely gorgeous!
Let’s get our lavender on!
Start by filling your shaker halfway with ice.
Then pour in the dry vermouth and lavender vodka. Pop the top on and vigorously shake a few times.
Now pour into your favorite martini glass and enjoy! Since I used lavender vodka that was already colored and the pearl dust I decided not to add a garnish. If you want to add a garnish, a small sprig of lavender would be nice.
Enjoy!
Have you made sparkly spirits? I’d love to hear how you used it!
