Flavor of the Month Summary: Cranberry

/ Uncategorized

The Cranberry Flavor of the Month has come to an end and I’m excited about the variety of recipes I was able to share this month.  While a majority of them were sweet I enjoyed exploring the flavors and forms you can use with cranberries.

Here’s the rundown:

Cranberry White Chocolate Blondies – The sweetness of white chocolate is offset with the tartness of cranberries in these chewy blondies.  They’re great for all occasions and you could even use dried cranberries in the seasons when fresh aren’t available!

Cranberry Chicken Salad – Texture is the first word that comes to mind when I think about this salad.  There’s lots of great crunch from walnuts and celery; and the dried cranberries add another textural element I think you’ll enjoy.  The vinaigrette used is made with cranberry sauce for some zip.

Cranberry Mousse – I don’t think most people think of cranberry as a favoring for mousse so I was really excited to try this.  It’s not too sweet, but fluffy and creamy made with a custard and whipped cream.

Cranberry Bran Muffins – These aren’t your run-of-the-mill bran muffins.  Studded with tart cranberries and glazed with honey butter.  So tasty!

So there you have it, I’m really pleased with the recipes I’ve shared this month.  The next Flavor of the Month is sesame and I cannot wait!
