Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Broadbent Vinho Verde Rosé
You guys may remember how much I love Vinho Verde this time of year. I’ve also been on a mission this summer to discover more Rosés. Well, imagine my delight when I saw this Vinho Verde Rose at my local grocery store! And it was only $10!
Appearance
This wine definitely looks like a Rosé with a lovely deep salmon color. The legs were almost non-existent which isn’t surprising with such low alcohol content (only 10%!).
Smell
Lovely hints of melon, pear, and sugarcane.
Taste
Just like original Vinho Verdes, this Rosé was slightly fizzy. It’s slightly dry with apple notes and a nice strawberry finish. I would definitely give this the “porch pounder” label, perfect for several glasses in the hot sun!
Pairings
As I mentioned this wine is light so it’s perfect to drink on its own. It would also be wonderful with a light salmon dish, Caesar or caprese salad. The crispness would also work with a big hunk of watermelon!
