Don’t Judge Me Mondays: The Graveyard
When you were a kid, did you ever blend all of the sodas together at the fountain drink station? When I was growing up we called it a Graveyard. Derek says that he grew up calling it a Suicide. Both were such morbid names! I thought it would be fun to make an adult version with booze. I chose several sodas and corresponding spirits and put it all in a drink. It sounds strange, but trust me on this…it’s pretty great!
Let’s get to it!
First you’re going to mix the sodas together in a small bowl or pitcher. I chose Mountain Dew, grape, and cola. You could also swap orange or lemon-lime for the grape and it would be quite tasty.
Here are the pairings I came up with for the booze:
- Mountain Dew/Midori
- Grape/Cassis
- Cola/spiced rum
- Lemon-lime soda/Limoncello
- Orange soda/Triple Sec
- Rootbeer/dark rum
Now fill a large glass with ice. Pour in about half of your soda mixture.
Then add your booze. If you don’t have Cassis, any berry-flavored booze would be tasty.
Now top off with the rest of the soda mix and give it all a stir.
This drink is sweet and fruity and will bring you back to your childhood!
Bottoms up!
