Flavor of the Month- Spring

It’s been fun celebrating Spring and the lovely weather and tasty produce we’re starting to see!  You may have noticed I was inspired by fruits this month!

Here’s the rundown:

Flower Power – I kicked things off with this cocktail full of herbal and floral flavors.  It combines gin, elderflower liqueur, and lavender vodka for something special!


Pineapple Upside Down Cornbread – Fresh pineapple is used in this hybrid of moist cornbread and pineapple upside down cake.  This is a great dessert to make for company because it looks impressive and is really tasty!


Asparagus & Parmesan Pasta Salad – Asparagus, parmesan, and walnuts are mixed with penne in this pasta salad with a creamy dressing flavored with pesto.  This salad will definitely be making appearances and at the parties we throw in the near future!


Chunky Monkey – I feel like we’ve entered milkshake season and this boozy shake has the perfect flavor trifecta of chocolate, peanut butter and banana.  So good!


Fruit Salad – My take on elevated Ambrosia, this salad is made with fresh fruit, homemade whipped cream and toasted coconut for texture.  Cream cheese is also added to the mix so the whole thing doesn’t get soggy too quickly.


Peach and Ginger Cheesecake – Of all the things I made this month, this cheesecake is my favorite.  The filling is flavored with fresh lemon and vanilla and sits on top of a gingersnap crust.  It’s crowned with a lovely syrupy peach mixture spiced with lots of ginger for some kick.
