Flavor of the Month: Baby theme

/ Uncategorized

Well, March has come to an end.  Thank you for indulging my rather loose interpretation of the term “flavor” by using the baby theme. 😉 It was fun coming up with things to share, though! Our little Cupcake is never far from my mind so I’m sure more baby things will seep into my posts here anyway. 😉

Here’s the rundown:

Pear Fennel Baby Puree – This puree can be made completely smooth for baby or left chunky and more flavor added for the adults.  You may want to ensure your baby can tolerate fennel and pear separately before serving her this. I love how easy it was to make!

Vegan Baby Corn Stir-fry – I’m always on the lookout for more vegetarian and vegan main dishes that feel like entrees and not just like a side dish or a main dish that’s lacking meat.  This definitely fit the bill!  It’s got lots of great textures, is filling, and uses fresh water chestnuts for an amazing taste!

Kumquat Bran Muffins – These may sound a little strange but I promise they taste absolutely divine!  Just think bran muffins with a sticky sweet marmalade and that’s basically what these are.  I also love how pretty they are!  They’d be great at your next brunch!

Mommy’s Nightcap – A combo of dessert wine and ginger ale to settle an upset tummy and also calms down Mommy. 😉

So that’s it!  April’s Flavor of the Month will be carrots.  This crunchy sweet veggie seemed like the best choice as we move into spring (here’s hoping the weather gets the memo!). Don’t forget to check out my Flavor of the Month Pinterest board to see all of the recipes and you can search #btpflavorofthemonth on instagram to find them also!
