Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Pumpkin Pie

/ Uncategorized

How’s everyone doing?  The holidays are barreling towards us, how are you faring?

This year I was determined to make a pumpkin cocktail.  So why not go all the way and make one inspired by pumpkin pie!  I wanted it to be creamy and full of spice and after some fun experimentation, I got it right!  This cocktail could be used with leftover pumpkin from Thanksgiving or you could serve it ON Thanksgiving!

Let’s get to it!

Pour the graham cracker crumbs on a small plate. Moisten the rim of your glass with an orange wedge and dip it into the graham cracker crumbs, rotating to get a good coating.

Now fill a shaker halfway with ice.  Add the pumpkin puree, milk, cinnamon whiskey, syrup and nutmeg.  If you’re using canned pumpkin, make sure it’s plain pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling which is flavored.

Pop the top on the shaker and shake, shake, shake.

I wanted this extra creamy and smooth so I poured it through a strainer into a glass.  You can make a mondo drink in a large martini glass or two smaller ones.  May I recommend the mondo to get you through the holiday madness. 😉

This cocktail obviously has pumpkin flavor but it’s also full of spice with a little of crunch on the rim from the graham cracker crumbs.  So good!

What’s your favorite holiday cocktail?
