Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Peach and Rosemary Slushy

/ Uncategorized

Guys, it’s happening.  The sun has finally arrived here in the Pacific Northwest and it’s glorious!  There is nothing like a sunny day around here.  Now that the sun is here on a more regular basis, I am realizing how much I missed it!  I love being able to drive around with the windows down, or have the windows in the bedroom open for a nice breeze and chance to hear the frogs in the bog across the street.  Life is good and a boozy frozen drink is in order!  You may remember after this drink that I mentioned how I really need more slushy drinks in my life.  That and homemade popsicles are most likely going to be a focus for me this summer!

I knew I wanted to make rosemary one of the flavors in my boozy slushy and I’ve also been craving peach lately.  It turns out these two are a match made in heaven!  The boozy element I chose is Amaretto.  Almond goes well with peach and rosemary so why not add it to this party!  I love it when things come together this effortlessly!

Ok, let’s get out slush on!

Take your sorbet out of the freezer first and let it soften for 10 minutes or so.  Now pull out the old blender.

Scoop your peach sorbet (sidenote: I just got an ice cream maker so you’ll probably be seeing more of  that around here too!) into the blender.

Then add your rosemary and amaretto.  You can just put the rosemary leaves in because they will be chopped up when it’s blended.

I actually found mini bottles of this amaretto!

Turn on the blender and mix until smooth.

If your drink is still too thick, pour in a tiny bit of the peach nectar.  Kerns is a popular brand of peach nectar and you can find it in the juice section of your local grocery store.

Pour the drink in your favorite glass and garnish with a sprig of rosemary or a peach slice.

Enjoy!
