Don’t Judge Me Mondays: Buttery Scotch Milkshakes

/ Uncategorized

Because summer is here and I will be appearing on the Scotchy Scotch Scotch Cast soon, I thought it only fitting that I share a boozy milkshake today.  There’s scotch in it, of course!

Making the Scotch Caramel Sauce last week, I learned how beautifully Scotch pairs with buttery rich flavors.  For that reason, I have chosen Butter Pecan as the ice cream for this milkshake.  As I said in that sauce post, I recommend here also that you use a scotch in this milkshake that you would drink on its own.  The scotch flavor will come through clearly in the milkshake, so it should be a flavor you enjoy.

Ok, enough chatting, let’s make the milkshake!

Take out your ice cream first.  If it has a few minutes out of the freezer while you gather everything else, it will be easier to scoop.

Add the milk to your blender.  We want a thick and rich milkshake, so use 2% or whole milk. Now add your ice cream.  I like my milkshakes really thick.  If you don’t, you’ll want to use less ice cream, or add more milk until you get the consistency you like.

Blend until everything is mixed together.  Add your scotch (I used the Highland Park 12 year).  Blend until it’s mixed in completely.

Pour into 2 glasses.  Garnish with caramel or chocolate sauce, a  cherry, or whipped cream (or all of the above!).
